RTT® FOR ATHLETES The Mental Side of Performance

Athletic performance is not purely physical.

An athlete can be highly trained, technically prepared and physically capable, yet notice that confidence, focus or instinct changes under pressure. Following an injury, an athlete may also find that returning physically does not always mean immediately returning with the same sense of trust and freedom in performance.

At Barvita Integrative Therapy, Violeta incorporates Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT®) as one component of her individualized work with athletes.

The purpose is not to diagnose or treat a psychological or medical condition. It is to explore learned beliefs, associations and automatic responses that may be influencing how an athlete approaches performance—and to support the development of responses that are more aligned with the athlete’s goals.

WHERE RTT® FITS

Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT®), developed by Marisa Peer, incorporates hypnosis as part of its process.

Violeta uses elements of this approach specifically within a personal-development and athletic-performance context.

Rather than working from a predetermined explanation of why an athlete is struggling, the process begins with the athlete’s individual experience: what happens under pressure, when confidence changes, where hesitation appears, and what the athlete would like to experience differently.

Two athletes may describe the same outward challenge while experiencing it for very different reasons.

The goal is not to fit the athlete into a method. The method is adapted to what the athlete is actually experiencing.

WHAT THE PROCESS LOOKS LIKE

The process begins with a conversation about the athlete’s goals and the specific performance pattern they would like to address.

During the RTT® portion of the work, Violeta uses hypnosis to guide the athlete into a relaxed state of focused attention. The athlete remains aware and communicative while exploring thoughts, beliefs, memories or associations they connect with the performance pattern being addressed.

The emphasis is not on diagnosing those experiences, but on increasing awareness of learned responses and supporting a more useful mental framework around the athlete’s performance goals.

Personalized audio reinforcement and mental rehearsal may also be incorporated to support the work between sessions.

ONE APPROACH. TWO DISTINCT ATHLETE PATHWAYS.

RTT® does not stand alone within Violeta’s athlete work. It can be incorporated differently depending on what the athlete is experiencing.

WHAT RTT® IS — AND WHAT IT ISN’T

RTT® as offered by Violeta is used for personal development and athletic-performance purposes.

It is not psychotherapy, psychological counseling, medical treatment or rehabilitation, and it is not used to diagnose or independently treat mental-health conditions, psychological disorders, medical conditions or injuries.

RTT® may complement an athlete’s broader performance work, but it does not replace appropriate care from licensed medical, mental-health or rehabilitation professionals when such care is needed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No. You remain aware and able to communicate throughout the process. Hypnosis involves focused attention rather than becoming unconscious or surrendering control.

Can RTT® be done online?

Yes. The RTT® component of Violeta’s performance work can be conducted online or in person in Glenview, Illinois. Hands-on components of the Athlete Freedom Method™ are provided in person.

NOT SURE WHICH APPROACH FITS?

You don’t need to determine that from a webpage.

A complimentary Athlete Clarity Call is an opportunity to discuss what you are experiencing, what you would like to change and which approach may be appropriate for your goals.
